Gummy Candy MOQ: What Wholesale and Private Label Buyers Should Confirm

Trays of gummy candy on a production line

A gummy candy minimum order quantity (MOQ) is useful only when the product and the unit are clear. A quantity quoted in kilograms of candy answers a different question from a minimum number of printed retail bags. Before comparing suppliers, define the gummy, the packaging and the assortment you want to buy.

This guide helps wholesale, importer and private label buyers prepare a comparable request. Kaixin confirms MOQ, pricing and production arrangements in the quotation for the selected product and packaging specification.

Separate the quantities in your request

Ask the supplier to state what each minimum applies to. One order can contain several quantities that need to work together.

QuantityWhat to confirm
Finished candyThe minimum net weight for the selected recipe, shape and finish.
Retail packsThe number of bags or other packs, with a defined net weight in each.
Printed packagingThe quantity for each artwork version and the handling of any unused packaging.
AssortmentsThe permitted combinations of shapes, flavors or colors and how each is counted.
Outer cartonsPacks per carton, carton quantities and the resulting shipment configuration.

Keep the product SKU and the artwork version beside each quantity. A combined order total can hide a much smaller quantity for an individual flavor, bag design or seasonal pack.

Define the gummy before asking for a minimum

Start with a product link, a sample reference or a written specification. “Fruit gummies” can describe several shapes, textures and finishes. The supplier needs to know which one you mean before it can evaluate a production run.

  • Identify the shape and approximate piece size or unit weight.
  • Specify the intended flavor and color assortment.
  • Describe the finish, such as oiled, sugar-sanded or sour-sanded.
  • State any ingredient restrictions and the destination market.
  • List the packaging format, net pack weight and artwork versions.

Treat a standard catalog item, a recipe adjustment and a new mold as separate development questions. Ask which parts can use an existing specification and which need evaluation or sampling. The Kaixin private label and OEM page explains the information needed to start that discussion.

Connect candy weight with the number of bags

Use net candy weight for the product calculation, then discuss shipping weight separately. A pack weight, a piece weight and a carton weight should each have its own field in the quotation.

For an arithmetic example, 2,000 bags at 250 g of candy per bag contain 500 kg of candy: 2,000 × 250 ÷ 1,000 = 500. The cola bottle gummy bag in our catalog shows a 250 g pack design. The example is a unit conversion; the MOQ and pack specification for an actual order still require a quotation.

This calculation does not include bags, cartons or pallets. Ask for the net and gross shipment weights, the packing arrangement and the quantities allowed for each selected item. If the order mixes several products, calculate each line before totaling the shipment.

Confirm the packaging and artwork conditions

A bag specification should identify more than the picture on the front. Record the intended net weight, bag dimensions or reference format, artwork language and the number of designs. Ask the supplier to confirm the applicable packaging process for that item.

  • Does the quotation cover existing packaging, custom printing or another agreed option?
  • Does each artwork version have a separate quantity condition?
  • Who approves the print file, product name and label information?
  • What happens to unused printed packaging after the production run?
  • What changes would require a revised quote or another sample?

For seasonal products, include the required arrival window at the start. Discuss sampling, artwork approval, production and shipping as separate stages. A promised dispatch date and a required arrival date should be recorded separately.

Compare quotations on the same basis

A unit price alone does not describe the whole order. Compare the same gummy specification, net pack weight, pack count and destination assumptions. Ask which development, sampling, tooling, artwork or transport costs apply and how they are presented in the quotation.

Also compare payment terms, delivery terms, sample approval, product documents and the process for handling a specification change. Confirm whether the price applies to candy weight, a finished retail pack or an outer carton. Keep a written record of the version you approved.

Check dietary and documentation requirements per product

If you need vegan, pectin-based, halal or sugar-free options, name the requirement in the first inquiry. Do not infer that one property applies to every item in a catalog. Ask for the selected formulation, applicable documentation and the scope of any certification you require before approving a sample.

The specialty gummy range provides starting points for that discussion. Product availability and the final specification are confirmed per project.

Use a short RFQ template

A clear request makes it easier to identify missing information and compare the supplier’s response. Copy this outline and add a product link or a reference image where useful.

Company and contact:
Destination market:
Product name or catalog link:
Shape, size and finish:
Recipe or ingredient requirements:
Packaging format and net pack weight:
Number of artwork versions:
Estimated quantity per product and per design:
Required arrival window:
Samples and documents requested:
Please confirm MOQ, quantity units, quotation scope and delivery terms.

If the first proposed quantity does not fit your plan, ask which specification changes the supplier can evaluate. Discuss an existing shape, a narrower assortment or a different packaging brief. Obtain written confirmation of the resulting specification and quantity conditions.
